Nail Trends for Autumn/Winter 2013

Autumn is here, and whilst the weather is getting colder it is not all bad news – it is time to bring out some new colours and styling ideas!
Although our evenings are getting darker, our accessories and nails can become brighter with accents of colour and glitter.

First in the trends for this autumn/winter is Black Magic – a spin on the standard black nail colour. Try adding a splash of colour by using Revlon’s Nail Art ‘Moon Candy’ (pictured) or Nail Glitter by Gosh. The Revlon set comes with a grey base coat and the glitter top coat – surprisingly hard-wearing.

Next up is our fail-proof metallic trend. Topshop have a great range of golds, silvers and bronze, quick coverage and less noticeable if you are anything like me and end up chipping a nail the day after painting them! Metallics are a good staple choice for the festive season, to be paired with some heels of the same metallic hue of course.

And finally, to brighten up foggy winter morning, try the stardust trend. Use any glitter top coat over a pastel shade (left over from Spring 13). Apply a base coat and let it dry and harden for longer than usual before applying the glitter coat – otherwise the base coat can smudge. I used Revlon ‘Coast is Clear’ with the glitter from the ‘Moon Candy’ set to create a beautiful unexpected wintery sparkle.

Perfect!
